Acqua Tofana was a poison created by Giulia Tofana around 1630 in Sicily. Tofana provided poison to women trapped in forced marriages, with abuser husbands. It is believed that about 600 women were released from their abusers thanks to the drink created by the italian chemist.
Giulia Tofana was discovered, tortured and executed in 1651.
